Thai Prime Minister to establish central rubber market

The Prime Minister of Thailand has ordered the establishment of a central rubber market within January 2015 while addressing other agendas in the cabinet’s meeting, said a spokesman.

According to the Deputy Spokesman of the Prime Minister’s Office Maj. Gen. Sunsern Kaewkamnerd, The Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has given an order at cabinet’s meeting that all designates all government agencies to take care of the public’s new year’s commute back to their hometown during holidays.

In the meeting, the Prime Minister had ordered the establishment of a central rubber market where the farmers and entrepreneurs can directly. The central market is to be set up within January 2015 in order to improve rubber price, which the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives Amnuay Patise had assured that the establishment is possible.

The Prime Minister had stated the national strategy for 2015-2020 is to sustainably achieve a stable and secure state with wealthy citizens, but it is up to the government agencies to work according to plan for the success.

Regarding the flooding in the three southern-border provinces, the Prime Minister had asked all government officials to work hard on water drainage while conserving the appropriate amount of water that needs to be reserved for future use.

In this occasion, the cabinet has approved the merging of the Agricultural Futures Exchange of Thailand (AFET) and the Thailand Futures Exchange (TFEX) into a single market to accommodate further for investors and increase competitiveness.

The cabinet has also approved the draft act on the Compensation Cost-of-Living for Pension Receiver that increases the cost of living compensation rate for the pensioner by 4 percent, which will be beneficial for up to 533,328 pension receivers.
