US-based Liberty Tire Recycling raised US$195,000 in 2026 for Blessings in a Backpack, a US nonprofit that provides weekend food to school-aged children facing hunger. The funds came from the company’s Liberty Cares Charity Golf Tournament and contributions from business partners and supporters, marking the third year of the partnership.
Liberty has raised more than US$415,000 for the organisation since 2024, including US$87,805 in the first year and US$132,785 in 2025, and has packed more than 16,000 food packs for children in need.
The partnership began after employees identified supporting children and addressing hunger as causes, they wanted the company to pursue. In late October, employees at five Liberty locations in Santa Fe Springs, California; Midlothian, Texas; Minerva, Ohio; Jackson, Georgia; and Portland, Oregon, will pack 6,500 bags of weekend meals for local Blessings in a Backpack programmes.
