THE European Tyre and Rubber Manufacturers’ Association (ETRMA) has recently published figures on the tyre replacement sales for the first quarter of 2013.
The report showed that market for consumer tyres was down by 12% due to, amongst other factors, bad weather conditions, delay of the change from winter to summer tyres, and not least the current economic environment.
The truck tyre market also remained on the low level of the previous year; and agro and motorcycle tyres also were significantly down to lower levels compared to same period 2012.
However, the industry expects that the market for summer tyres will perform in the coming months slightly above last year.
