Tyre sales to grow, group predicts

The Rubber Manufacturer Association (RMA) has predicted that the shipment of tyres will increase to more than 310 million this year.

Other forecast are as follows:

  • Original equipment passenger tyres: the demand for passenger OE tyres this year are expected to rise from 47.5 million units last year to 48.7 million units.
  • Original equipment commercial truck tyres: It is predicted that commercial truck tyres to grow 3.7% to 5.6 million units this year.
  • Replacement light truck (LT) tyres: Forecasted to grow 0.3% to 29.7 million units in 2015 from 29.6 million in 2014.
  • Replacement passenger tyres: Replacement passenger tyre shipments are expected to dip by 0.6% or 1.2 million units to 204.1 million units this year.
  • Replacement light truck (LT) tyres: Expected to grow 0.3% to 29.7 million units this year.
