Korean-based tyre manufacturer Kumho has won the Quality Award from French automotive manufacturing group Renault. It is the first Korean-based manufacturer to win the award. The award event was held at Renault Group’s world headquarters in Boulogne-Billancourt, France.
“It is to be hoped we can continue to build on the excellent relationship that now exists between Renault and ourselves,” Kumho COO and senior vice president Sechang Park said.
“This award means a tremendous amount coming from such an influential global car manufacturing company,” he added.
The award came at an important time: it recently expanded its European Technical Centre (KETC) by creating a new tyre testing facility at Papenburg in Lower Saxony, Germany.
