Pyrum starts commissioning of tyre recycling lines in Dillingen

Pyrum German tyre recycler Pyrum Innovations, which has been developing its pyrolysis technology, has announced the successful start of the warm commissioning of Reactors 2 and 3 at its main plant in Dillingen/Saar. It adds that the first oil will soon be produced from the new facilities. The approval authorities have already given the green light to start production, it further stated. Once this is done, it will triple its capacity to 20,000 tonnes of used tyres/year.

In the last few weeks, cold commissioning was completed and all parts were calibrated and tested. The automatic operation has already been tested over several weeks and the training of the staff has been completed. The system is filled with all media, the leak test has been carried out and is ready for production. As soon as this is started, the throughput of the first new line will be gradually increased to 75%.

All experiences from line 2 will then be implemented in line 3 and line 3 will also be ramped up to 75% throughput as quickly as possible. Both lines are then gradually increased together to 100%. The entire process to full capacity is carried out as quickly as possible, although it can take several months, says the firm.

Pascal Klein, CEO of Pyrum Innovations: “We are very pleased to be starting production on our two new lines soon. With the cold commissioning, which has already been completed, and the warm commissioning that has already begun, everything went extremely well and we are very satisfied. We are now in the final stages of expanding our site in Dillingen. At the same time, our work on six additional sites is progressing rapidly.”

In addition, the ESG rating agency EcoVadis once again awarded Pyrum Innovations silver status during the annual recertification, thereby confirming the sustainability of the Pyrum business model, it stated.
