Poor tapping activities caused low rubber incentives claims – plantation minister

Only  110,000 out of 500,000  or about 22% of smallholders in Malaysia have claimed the Rubber Production Incentive (IPG) to date, according to Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister Datuk Dr Mohd Khairuddin Aman Razali, adding that poor rubber tapping activities or plantations inherited by their children that were left abandoned could have caused the low-turnout.

This situation had caused a huge loss to the country from the economic aspect, in addition to the waste of resources, he said.
