Pirelli, an Italian tyre producer, proposes to invest US$36 million in its Silao, Mexico, manufacturing site to raise production capacity to 7.2 million tyres per year. A total of 150 new employment will be created as a result of the expansion.
The Silao facility of Pirelli was established in 2012. The facility presently produces over 6.6 million high-performance and ultra-high-performance tyres per year for Premium and Prestige cars, as well as electric vehicles. The facility employs over 2,700 people and services the local and greater North American markets.
