Pirelli and Pro-Align celebrate Tyre Safety Month

Pro-Align-QuickTread

Pirelli and Pro-Align hosted a roadshow to celebrate Tyre Safety Month this October. The show allowed tyre tread and depth checks for the public.

The roadshows, which were held at Pirelli’s Carlisle factory and Burton headquarters, were timed to coincide with the start of October’s Tyre Safety Month and aimed to remind Pirelli staff and the wider motoring public about the importance of regular tyre tread depth checks.

The events utilised the new Hunter QuickTread drive over tread depth measurement system, available exclusively in the UK through Pro-Align.

“These events were a great way to kick off Tyre Safety Month and remind drivers about why they should check their tyre tread depths at least once a month,” comments Paul Beaurain, managing director, Pro-Align. “While we were only on site for a few hours each time, the efficient nature of QuickTread meant we were able to measure dozens of cars quickly and accurately so drivers could go away with a clear results print-out highlighting if they needed to replace their tyres or not.”

Pirelli UK Managing Director Dominic Sandivasci said: “The activity with Pro-Align to kick off Tyre Safety month was a great success in both Burton and Carlisle. The state-of-the-art system from Pro-Align is very impressive, and checked so many tyres in such a short space of time. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Pro-Align for their support.”

Out of all the car measured by QuickTread over the two events, only 9% had an ‘Advisory’ tread depth between 1.6mm and 3mm.
