Massive tyre scraps could be significantly reduced with a recycling technology that is compact, it can fit in a small garage. The new SymTyre-S300 semi-automatic tyre cutter works as fast as 60 seconds to flat-pack whole tyres on site , with the valuable components of rubber and steel saved for later recycling.

Conti recalls motorbike tyres for safety programme

Continental has announced a voluntary recall programme involving approximately 1,700 motorcycle tyres. These tyres may experience uneven wear, groove cracking and in some cases belt lift, which can lead to a loss of inflation pressure and a potential loss of control that could lead to accidents, the tyre firm said.

Guayule-made Yulex mattress line

Pure LatexBLISS is set to launch its new Yulex line of bio-latex mattresses, toppers and pillows made from guayule, a renewable, non-food crop grown domestically in the United States. Yulex’s biorubber is sought for its eco-friendly properties.

New complete tyre plant delivered to Papua New Guinea

Eldan Recycling continues to grow on every market worldwide. One of the most interesting projects is the delivery of a new complete tyre plant in Papua New Guinea. This recycling plant is designed to process all kinds of tyres including truck tyres and huge mining tyres that can have a size bigger than 4 meters and a weight over several tons each. The system will produce 0-4 mm rubber granulate (99.9 per cent free of textile and steel) at approx. 4 tons per production hour.

Goodyear bets on Europe

Goodyear expects the European market, especially the tyre aftermarket, to be a key component of its financial success. The tyre maker has achieved a turnaround during the past eight years, improving consistently with the exception of the 2008/2009 financial crisis, said Darren Wells, Executive Vice President and CEO of Goodyear

RM54 million for rubber replanting in Sarawak

The Rubber Industry Smallholders Development Authority (RISDA) intends to spend RM54 million on rubber replanting programme in Sarawak this year. A total area of 4,000 hectares will be targeted for the purpose , when identified smallholders are granted RM 13, 500 per hectare each.
