Kumho Tires has been picked as the exclusive supplier for the BMW Mini John Cooper Works (JCW) Grand Prix, a high-performance sport version of the compact car.
The tyre maker’s Ecsta V700 will be used as the Original Equipment (OE) tyre for the Mini JCW GP, of which, only 2,000 limited edition units will be produced worldwide.
The Executive Director of Kumho Tire’s central research centre, Jung Il-taek, said, “We have worked with BMW since 2011, when we inked a supply deal with them. We feel proud that a product we manufacture at our plant in Gwangju will be going all over the world with the Mini JCW GP.”
Kumho is also supplying its OE tyres to other car makers including Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, Chrysler, General Motors and Ford.(RJA)
