North American Tire and Retread Expo adds recycling section

The North American Tire and Retread Expo will have a new section called “Tire Recycling World” dedicated to recycled tyres. The section will be a permanent addition, according to the show promoters.

Expo organizers said that tyre and rubber recycling is a challenge to ecology. An estimated 300mn tyres are discarded per year and half of it is recycled as secondary fuel in industries like cement production. They added that reclaimed rubber can be used in manufacturing, road paving, and sports stadium ground filters.

In announcing “Tire Recycling World”, organisers hoped that companies in the rubber recycling field will present their technology and services to tire dealers and visitors. Exhibitors can still reserve booths in the Expo’s official website. Early bird discounts of 10% apply to those who sign up before December 31st.

The 2016 expo will be on April 19 to 21 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Centre in New Orleans.
