Nexen has scooped yet another design award, as it continues its commitment to producing eco-friendly tyres and asserting its position in the global tyre market.
The Nexen N’blue eco tyre, which was awarded the US Green Good Design Award 2014, is the South Korean company’s most popular environmentally friendly tyre. It delivers reduced rolling resistance while improving fuel efficiency through a construction designed to minimise energy loss and optimised tread patterns.
Han Minhyun, director of Nexen Tire R&D Centre, commented: “This award proves that Nexen Tire’s eco-friendly design and technological prowess have proven world-class capabilities. We will continue to invest in eco-friendly research and development and thus enhance our position in the global market”
The award is organised by the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design in cooperation with the European Centre for Architecture, Art, Design and Urban Studies.
Nexen tyres are popular with etyres customers, because they deliver solid performance without a premium price tag.
Earlier this year, Nexen also scooped a coveted design award for a tyre which features superior drainage performance on wet roads to suit the European climate.
The Nexen N’FERA SU1 UHP tyre, which won the 2014 German iF Design Award, boasts an asymmetric pattern that delivers excellent cornering and stability at high-speed driving.
