Mobile Awareness, LLC produced a tyre-monitoring and tracking system for truck fleets of any size. MobileTraq tracks tyre pressure, tyre temperature, and GPS location. The system provides data that increase efficiency and prevent field breakdowns.
Tyres are fitted with a triple-mount sensor called the TireStat. The sensor can be placed inside the tire, or onto the valve stems. The
TireStat records changes in tyre pressure and temperature every minute.
The data is sent over a MobileTRAQ Que or Vue unit, which processes and stores the data and in the cloud for real-time and historical monitoring.
The fleet manager is notified by text or email whenever pressure or temperature is above or below user-designated levels. He can then contact the truck driver to address before it gets worse.
CEO Gary Rothstein says that their priority is to prevent tyre blowouts that lead to delays and accidents. “The whole premise behind developing MobileTRAQ was to address the second highest fleet maintenance expense, tire management, with a complete and cost-effective turnkey solution.” he says.
