Michelin received Gold Class Sustainability Award

MICHELIN-DJSI-2016Michelin just received the Gold Class Sustainability Award 2016, the highest distinction awarded by the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI).

Michelin is awarded for its contribution to the reduction of emissions of greenhouse gases and designates us as the company that grew the most compared to last year, of all participants automotive suppliers.

The tyre company said that its ambition in this area is somewhat audacious: to reduce the carbon footprint of our products by 20% by 2030.

“It is this commitment, and above the results obtained, which have been recognized by the DJSI. Recall that the transport sector is responsible alone for 15% of greenhouse gas emissions in the world, and the COP21 concluded in Paris on limited objectives that require an effort from everyone, individuals and industries. This award honors us, it demonstrates that Michelin is in pole position on the road to sustainable mobility, which will be for all a better way forward.” said Michelin in its press release.
