Maxxis will launch its highly anticipated Energtra MEco3 eco tyre at this month’s trade fair in Essen, Germany. The new offering will be the first passenger car tyre from Maxxis specifically designed to lower rolling resistance, fuel consumption and co2 emissions.rsz_meco3

The innovative MEco3 comes with an enhanced contact patch for improved handling and wet performance, as well as a whole host of other characteristics that will make it very attractive to motorists around the world. It has been designed with an energy-saving sidewall, which helps to improve economy and deliver a more comfortable ride for drivers and passengers.

An SMH layout acts to absorb impact and help keep the tyres rigidity, while 3D sipe technology ensures grooves remain open during contact to reduce the risk of hydroplaning in wet weather conditions. All of these key benefits come together to make a great option for everyday motorists, and add a new dimension to Maxxis’ already impressive and very diverse product offering.

The Energtra MEco3 marks an important milestone for Maxxis International, as Managing Director Derek McMartin confirmed: “A few years ago we set out to prove that high performance tyres didn’t have to cost consumers the Earth. I think we’ve done that pretty well and our growing popularity pays testament to the fact we’ve found a great balance between what people need in terms of safety, what they want in terms of quality, and what they are prepared to pay to get it.

Now we’re out to show that these tyres don’t have to cost the earth in a literal sense, while at the same time saving people money on their fuel bills. Eco tyres are a win-win for everyone, and the MEco3 is a fine example of what is possible given enough investment in research and development.”

The Energtra MEco3 will be joined on stand by a number of Maxxis’ most popular tyres, with the manufacturer also showcasing the Pro R1, Victra VS01, Arctictrekker WP05, All Season AP2, Wormdrive AT980E and Camparo to new and existing distributors from across the world.

It is hoped this event will prove pivotal in Maxxis’ continuing expansion over Europe, and the company is certainly investing heavily to ensure it makes the most of any opportunities that are presented at the show.

As well as an impressive array of products, Maxxis will head to Essen with representatives from every corner of the business, all highly focused on finalising existing discussions and starting as many new ones as possible. European business leaders will be joined by a senior delegation from headquarters, including chairman Robert Lo, and leading innovators from the Maxxis research and development department.

Activity will centre on updating existing distributors on pricing, marketing and product initiatives, as well as showing non-Maxxis customers exactly what they’re missing out on.
