The Kerala Tappers and Workers Centre on Wednesday protested against the fall in prices of natural rubber by pouring latex on the ground at the Marine Drive here.
In a press release, the leaders of the union said that the protest conducted at the Marine Drive was only a beginning of the state-wide stir. The protest would be carried out in every district. P C Cyriac, former Rubber Board chief, inaugurated the protest.
The leaders of the union demanded the government to take necessary steps to stabilise the price of rubber.
A protest rally was also conducted. The leaders said that, if the government does not take action, the protest would be conducted before Parliament.
