Giti Tire to keep US tyre plant idled until early May

Giti Tire (USA) Ltd. is extending the closure of its tyre plant in Richburg, South Carolina, until May 4 “to adjust for market conditions impacted by COVID-19.” The move will affect roughly 800 workers at the3-year-old passenger and light truck tyre factory, which has an annual rated production capacity of 5 million tyres.

It will also adhere to federal, state and local government guidelines and protocols to ensure the health and safety of its employees, customers, suppliers and relevant communities in all aspects of operations.
