ContiTech optimises production of cooling water hoses

ContiTech, one of the leading manufacturers in the area of cooling water hoses for industrial use, has optimized the production of its tried and tested cooling water hose. These are now manufactured in accordance with DBL 6254.12, DBL 6254.16, and DIN 73411-B in a peroxide-crosslinked design instead of the previous sulfur-crosslinked design, which has further improved the hose’s product properties.

Made out of EPDM, this hose is ideal for cooling and heating systems in different industrial fields of application thanks to its resistance against cooling water and the conventional additions of frost and corrosion inhibitors. This therefore increases the temperature resistance of the hose – from its previous +125 °C to +135 °C and, for short periods of time, even +160 °C. In this way, the cooling water hose lives up to the market’s rising requirements profiles.

The compression member made from high-strength aramid also contributes to the new generation’s increased resistance to a constant high-temperature environment as well as safety.

Not only does the ContiTech cooling water hose meet the conventional German national standards of the automotive industry, DBL 6254.12, DBL 6254.16, and DIN 73411-B, but also now the American standard SAE J20 R3 HT.

The hose’s standardized marking with manufacturer’s and brand name indicates the standards to which the hoses branded with „Made in Germany” are made and which materials were used.
