Boston-based Cabot Corportation unveils a new performance additive Cab-O-Sil Duramold 2150 fumed silica that features high temperature vulcanising (HTV) silicone elastomer application.
According to Cabot, this newly introduced fumed silica gives an excellent transparency performance , featuring the high purity level of silica found in the its proprietary silica with distinct particle characteristics. The innovation is specifically developed for clearer HTV silicone applications. It has 30% lesser measured grit.
Cab-O-Sil Duramold 2150 can also enhance the physical properties of HTV silicone end products like gaskets, seals for automotive, cable seals, industrial seals, hoses, bushings, and electrical insulating tubing. It can also improve the tear strength of these products of up to 15%.
Additionally, Cabot is planning to expand its projects to meet the growing demand for their products. (RJA)
