Bridgestone Europe NV/SA implements the conversion of its passenger car tyre plant in Bari, Italy.
The closure of Bari plant, which is fully owned by Bridgestone Italia S.p.A., had been announced in early March. But with the conversion plan, the plant will remain in operation, but this time, will be solely focusing on the production of tyres for general use, while increasing its competitiveness and reducing its overall conversion cost.
The agreement to implement the conversion plan was recently signed by all stakeholders involved in the negotiations, such as Bridgestone, Local Institutions, Ministry of Welfare, Invitalia and Trade Unions.
