Bluestar Silicones expanded its elastomer capabilities in Spain adding capacity for silicone custom compounding and enhancing its manufacturing technology to strengthen its offering in Ready to Use Silcone Elastomers.
The company will promote heat cured rubber (HCR) and liquid silicone rubber (LSR) for Electrical and Industrial as well as Healthcare applications at the Silicone Elastomers World Summit 2015 in Barcelona, on December 9 to 10.
Bluestar Silicones enhanced custom compounding operation is supported by Bluestar Silicones high performance Masterbatches, a full range of functional and color additives, unique and patented additives and a global technical and manufacturing expertise network.
“We are pleased to announce this expansion into the Europe and EMEA markets with an enlargement in capacity of custom compounding which represents more than a fifty per cent increase. We would like also to highlight that the new compounding, filtering and packing line incorporates state of the art technology all along the process to ensure product quality and process safety. This line is installed in a dedicated and isolated room with dedicated services and utilities” says Mehdi Abbadi, Global Elastomers Business Director.
“Silicone custom compounding is already a core competency for Bluestar Silicones in its plant in Spain and with this new line we will enhance our high performance bases to deliver custom solutions to precisely meet our customers’ local needs.” Abbadi added.
The company offers a new generation of fire resistant HCR silicones for safety cables designed to meet the highest dielectric, heat stability and fire resistance requirements of the market, resulting in low smoke for better visibility and safety for emergency responders. Other applications for custom compounding include wire and cable, electrical insulation, automotive and transportation, building and construction, and consumer goods. This investment is fully aligned with Bluestar Silicones growth plan for Elastomers announced in June 2015 by the company.
