Bluestar Silicones assembles within the Axel’One PMI platform

Bluestar-Silicones

An R&D team from Bluestar Silicones has set up shop within the Axel’One Innovative Materials Platform to develop the flexible functional supports of the future. Bluestar Silicones is a lead player on a collaborative project called ECOSILAC targeting the eco-design of acrylate silicones.

The Axel’One PMI platform is designed to share research tools, both for innovative VSEs and SMEs and for collaborative projects. Within Axel’One PMI, Bluestar Silicones is sharing a pilot tool and is bringing its skills to bear in the area of coating and modification of flexible support surfaces. Other collaborative projects such as BIONICOMP and SMOUSSIF will also be using the technological environment.

Bluestar Silicones R&D teams will thereby have access to an exemplary made-to-measure environment to host open innovation and co-activity between different entities performing R&D programmes. At the heart of chemical valley, the Axel’One Innovative Materials Platform (Plateforme Matériaux Innovants) is hosting, accompanying and providing R&D teams with the resources they need to pursue successful innovative materials projects.

Each entity contributes its collaborative research programmes and research tools designed to improve or develop innovative materials: weight-saving in structures, energy savings, functional materials, durability, improving mechanical properties, thermal resistance and recycling: a set of challenges to produce the competitive, high-performance, low environmental footprint materials of the future.
