China’s Guizhou Tyre breaks ground on US$230 mn project in Vietnam

Chinese tyre producer Guizhou Tyre, under its Advance Tyre (Vietnam) Co Ltd subsidiary, under has broken ground on its US$230 million tyre expansion project in Vietnam’s Mekong Delta province of Tien Giang.

The construction will be undertaken by engineering firm China Railway Sixth Bureau Group. 

The project is the third phase of the firm’s US$615 million investment in the province.

The first phase of US$214 million, also Guizhou Tyre’s first overseas facility, began construction in December 2019.

The first phase has an annual capacity of 1.2 million all steel radial tyres.

The second phase of US$186 million produces truck & bus radial tyres (TBR tyres), off-the-road tyres (OTR tyres), and agricultural tyres.

The third phase will have an output of 6 million passenger car tyres (PCR tyres) and is expected to complete construction in 2025.
