Dutch tyre and rubber machinery maker VMI recently officially opened its Southeast Asian service centre in Chonburi, Thailand.
The move from smaller premises to the new high-tech facility reflects VMI’s commitment to support the industry in this increasingly important region. The new service centre is designed to serve the growing needs of VMI customers in the entire SEA region.
Harm Voortman, CEO of the VMI group explained during the opening tree planting ceremony, “The move to larger premises, which are customised for our specific needs is an investment to support our customers and maximize their VMI experience. We are able to keep VMI machines in the field up-to-date and running efficiently.”
The facility of almost 1,500 sq m is suited for delivering the full range of service that VMI offers to the industry with a workshop and over 200 sq m of office space for support staff and engineering, but also training facilities for customers.
Services provided to the region include tyre building drum maintenance and overhauls, retrofits and maintenance to existing machines as well as housing fully trained commissioning and service engineers.
The ceremony, which was attended by locally based customers and VMI staff, included a technical seminar with presentations and service related workshops to underline the capabilities of the new facility.
