There may be competing tire industry trade shows in Germany in the coming years if the German Tire Trade Association, BRV, goes ahead with plans to establish its own show, starting in 2018.
These plans, disclosed recently by the BRV, do not mean, however, that the biennial Reifen trade show in Essen will not continue, according to Karen Vogelsang, executive directore, Essen Trade Shows, U.S. Representative Office Messe Essen G.m.b.H.
The next Reifen trade show, which is organized by Messe Essen and up to now co-sponsored by the BRV, will take place May 27-30, and then again every two years thereafter.
The BRV said it plans to hold its fair in Cologne, Germany, in 2018, according to news reports in Germany since confirmed by Messe Essen.
The last Reifen expo, in 2012, drew 19,000 visitors from 136 countries, Messe Essen said, along with 653 exhibitors spread over 645,000 square feet of space.
