Liberty Tire Recycling has named Scott W. Whitney as its new CEO, effective June 1.
A graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., Whitney most recently served as CEO of Greenwood Fuels, a renewable energy company. Before that, he spent 25 years with Covanta Energy, rising to the presidency of Covanta Holding Corp.’s European group.
Whitney also oversaw the development of Covanta’s waste-to-energy, independent power and waste and wastewater treatment businesses in North America, South America, Europe and the Middle East, Liberty Tire said.
Whitney succeeds Bill Fry, who as Liberty Tire CEO oversaw the company’s successful financial restructuring. – Rubbernews.com
