With its new Grabber SRL range, General Tire has produced a competition-bred tyre that is designed to test medium or large 4WDs to the limits of their capabilities.

The new hard-core tyre was developed from the American company’s Grabber competition tyre that looms large in Stateside off-road racing.

Using reinforced “Duragen” three-ply casing, multi-angled sidewall protectors and “Reactive Contour Technology”, the new tyre is claimed to promote even tread wear during its life.

Its bush toughness is assisted by a patented ‘Strake and Chamfer’ tread pattern that delivers high levels of traction in both mud and silt, while “Acoustic Modulation Sound Technology” reduces road noise on sealed roads.

According to Mitchell Golledge, Marketing Manager, Continental Tyres of Australia, “General Tire is a major player in the American off-road tyre market and our aim is to replicate that success here in Australia.”

Golledge said the Grabber SRL is “Built on technology that’s thoroughly proven in the heat of competition.”

It adds an “edge of refinement to its on-road performance to make it the perfect choice for serious off-road drivers. There isn’t a tougher, better performing hard core all-terrain tyre on the market here right now” he continued.

The new Grabber SRL off-road tyre is available in 15-inch, 16-inch and 18-inch fitments across five sizes to accommodate most popular medium and large recreational and workhorse 4WD vehicles on the Australian market.

The new range of tyres is available from Continental Tyres retail stores and Bob Jane T-Marts across Australia.
