UAE-based manufacturer Rubber World Industries is targeting opportunities across the Americas, according to managing diretor Rizwan Shaikhani.
The company, part of Shaikhani Group’s Rubber World Industries business, is targeting opportunities in Mexico, Panama and Brazil, among other markets, and has attended trade exhibitions in the US and Canada this year. It also has offices in Canada and the US.
The company makes insulation tubes and coils used to protect HVAC pipes and prevent condensation as well as insulation sheet rolls. It has a number of related product lines including glues, tapes and canvas coatings. Its products are manufactured under the Gulf-O-Flex brand from a 100,000m2factory in the Ajman Industrial Area.
It launched two new products at the Big 5 2014. The first, Gulf-O-Flex XPE, is a cross-link polyethylene pipe which is targeted for use as insulation cover for chilled pipes. Unlike its standard rubber-based pipes used to cover HVAC equipment that need to be able to handle high temperatures, the polyethylene pipes are recyclable and therefore better for the environment, according to business development manager Mohsin Moin.
The second is a new line of its Gulf-O-Glue range with a lower level of volatile organic content (VOC) than its standard range, which is used to bond foam board insulation. This is being produced to meet specification requirements from a growing range of consultants who have to meet greener environmental standards, Mohn added.
Shaikhani said that Rubber World Industries currently produces around 600 containers worth of insulation tubes and sheets per year, which is sold across the UAE and exported to 60 countries.
“We are targeting a 20% increase for 2015,” he added.
