Tyre makers in business mode for the Tyrexpo Asia

THE Tyrexpo Asia 2013 to be held 19-21 March at the Singapore Expo Centre expects to bring in more tyre manufacturers, distributors, brokers and agents from around the world this year than in the previous shows. The show, to be officially opened by Dr Stephen Evans, head of the International Rubber Study Group (IRSG), will also be endorsing Singapore’s strategic importance as a major international hub and gateway to global business markets.

Major tyre suppliers are already gearing up their product focus and sales strategies for the region’s independent tyre and equipment exhibition.

Singapore-based Omni United, with its fast-growing flagship brand Radar, which now has a presence in over 80 countries across five continents will showcase four new Radar patterns in the show, including the Renegade A/T, a rugged, M&S rated, all-terrain tyre for light truck and SUV applications available in five different sizes; the Rivera GT10, a passenger car/light truck all-season range available in 23 different sizes; the Rivera Pro2 high performance summer range in 21 sizes; and the RPX700, a budget performance range for smaller passenger vehicles, available in six different sizes.

Omni has also debuted in motorsports for this year via the Lucas Oil Series (LOORRS) and SCORE Desert Series with its rugged, heavy-duty Renegade R5 M/T tyres.

Meanwhile, leading the Chinese tyre manufacturers in the show, Hangzhou Zhongce Rubber (ZC-Rubber) will be promoting its brands at Tyrexpo as part of a stated ambition of joining the world’s top 10 tyre producers.
ZC-Rubber is China’s largest and fastest growing tyre manufacturer, and ranked 11 in the Top 75 global tyre manufacturers.

Crowntyre is another expanding Chinese tyre manufacturer that looks forward to building a wider customer base through the show. In 2012, Crowntyre invested in setting up a subsidiary company in Singapore, Gremax Industrial, to increase its service levels to customers in the ASEAN region. Other subsidiaries have also been established in the USA, Europe and Middle East to support sales volumes that have increased by an average of over 30% for each of the past six years. Last year, more than 6,000,000 units of passenger and light truck tyres were sold by the company, which owns three independent brands including Gremax, Suntek and Tracmax.

Qingdao Au-Shine Tyre Co,, who owns brands including Haulking, Agromaster and Rainmaster, has only been involved in the sector since 2009. From then, te company has already achieved US$10 million in export sales and an output of 3.2 million sets of bias tyres, including OTR, agricultural, industrial, truck and light truck tyres; products it will be promoting heavily in Singapore.

Middle Eastern suppliers will also be well represented. The Dubai-based Al Dobowi Group will be showcasing its latest new brand, Eternity, with a product range that includes truck and bus radials, truck bias, light truck, passenger car and OTR tyres.

Also from Dubai is Zafco’s Zeetex brand, established in 2005 and comprising extensive ranges of tyres, batteries and lubricants. Zeetex is an international brand, designed and developed to cater to the customer needs in every tyre category for all types of vehicles.

Show regular BKT from India is a leading player in off-highway tyres with presence in 130 countries and a global market share of 5%. Having established itself in the replacement market, BKT is now focusing on major OEM customers in Asia. Its presence at Tyrexpo Asia will centre on its newly developed agricultural and OTR tyres in both bias and radials.

While there will be an unprecedented number, range and variety of tyre companies at the show, visitors will also have exceptional access to dozens of international suppliers of retreading materials, technology and equipment, wheels, workshop machinery, tools, accessories and consumables.
