To further strengthen Trelleborg’s foothold in North America and its presence in sealing solutions for major aircraft programs, Trelleborg Sealing Solutions has agreed to acquire CoorsTek, Inc.’s US-based subsidiary that specialises in the manufacturing of precision seals for the aerospace industry.
The operation to be acquired is located in El Segundo, California and has recorded SEK115 million (approximately US$13.6 million) in 2015 sales.
The bolt-on acquisition is part of Trelleborg’s strategy to strengthen its positions in attractive market segments.
Commenting on the company’s newest acquisition, Claus Barsøe, President of the Trelleborg Sealing Solutions business area, said: “The acquired operation is well-known in the industry for its technical solutions, good quality and on-time delivery and I am delighted to welcome it to Trelleborg. The aerospace market is an important growth market and the acquired operation’s product range of various PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) seals and other custom-made plastic components fits very well into our product portfolio and future strategy.”
The transaction is expected to be finalised in the fourth quarter of this year following the approval of relevant authorities.
