Toyoda Gosei begins operations at Indian plant

toyotaThe Gujarat Plant of Toyoda Gosei Minda India Pvt. Ltd. (TGMIN), started operations in October 2018. The plant is the Indian subsidiary of Toyoda Gosei Co. Ltd.

India is a key market for Toyoda Gosei, and the company has been enhancing its development and production network there, including the establishment of a new technical and sales office (Gurugram Office) in a suburb of Delhi in April 2018. Toyoda Gosei aims to more than double its sales in India to 35 billion yen by 2025.

The plant is built on an approximate area of 75,000 sq metres with building occupying approximately 18,000 sq metres and would be manufacturing safety systems.The company expects to employ 330 people.

Toyoda Gosei Minda India Private Limited, founded in April 2008 and headquartered at Rajasthan, India, was built with a capital investment of 4.4 billion rupees. The company has about of 1,583 employees.

Toyoda Gosei was established in 1949 and is based in Kiyosu, Japan. The company is a manufacturer of rubber and plastic automotive parts, with a network of approximately 100 plants and offices in 18 countries and regions.

The Gujarat Plant will supply airbags, the demand for which is growing with the increasing automobile production and stricter safety regulations in India, plus supply steering wheels, weatherstrips and other parts to Suzuki Motor Gujarat Pvt. Ltd.
