Top Glove to boost annual production to 45.1 billion gloves

Top Glove Corp Bhd aims to increase its total volume of production by 10% this year via its capacity expansion of 52 production lines by August. Top Glove managing director, K.M.Lee said the 10% target for this year is quite substantial for the company.

The capacity expansion plan involves an additional 4.8 billion pieces of gloves per annum to total of 45.1 billion gloves per annum. Top Glove has allocated RM 200 million this year with RM 120 million to be spent on the capacity expansion plan. The balance of RM 30 million will be allocated to the groups’ rubber plantation, located in Indonesia.

“We have targeted to commence the first phase of planting in October, while the remaining RM 50 million will be spent on the TG Tower project,” Lee says, adding that the group’s first tapping will take place in 2020. RJA
