The Tire Industry Association’s (TIA) Farm Tire Service (FTS) program, released last year, has won a Telly Award in the Safety category.

This is TIA’s second Telly for 2013, the association said, with its Winter Tire Replacement video recognized in the online Safety category. This the fifth Telly for TIA, with the trade group’s Earthmover Tire Service (ETS) Program winning in 2009 and the Commercial Tire Service (CTS) Program winning two awards in 2010.

The Telly Awards honor outstanding local, regional and cable TV commercials and programs, the finest video and film productions, and online commercials, video and films.

TIA said more than 12,000 entries from all 50 states and 21 countries were entered in the competition.

Other 2013 winners included 121 Fortune 500 companies, 272 non-profit organizations and 75 worldwide media brands, such as Boeing, Lockheed Martin, the American Heart Association, Sports Illustrated, The Weather Channel, Time Life and the Chicago Tribune.

“The FTS Program is important for our members that service farm, agricultural and construction tyre and wheel assemblies,” said Ken Brown, TIA president.

“Winning two Telly awards for safety is a perfect example of why ‘Tire Safety Starts Here’ and TIA remains the undisputed leader in technician training and certification.”

FTS was developed with the cooperation of the Bridgestone Agricultural Tire division of Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations L.L.C., TIA said, and is a 200-level basic training program available in the traditional video/workbook format as well as through TIA’s Online University.

Bridgestone provided TIA with unlimited access to their test center in Columbiana, Ohio, and assisted the association throughout the production phase of the project.

“We are incredibly grateful for all of the help that the Bridgestone Agricultural division provided to support the development of the FTS Program,” said Kevin Rohlwing, TIA senior vice president of training.

“Given the access that we had to such a world-class test center, it’s fitting that FTS was recognized for excellence in video production. And by winning another award in the safety category, it validates the commitment that we are making to provide the industry with the highest quality training and education.”
