TIA to induct Glen Nicholson as president

Glen Nicholson will be inducted as the Association’s new president on Tire Industry Association’s (TIA) annual membership meeting on November 2 at the Tropicana Las Vegas. Nicholson will serve a one-year term.

Nicholson attended college at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Florida and during his sophomore year he started working as a tire technician at Allied Tire Sales.

While attending the University of Central Florida he was offered a full-time job as an auto technician for a NTW (National Tire Warehouse) franchisee; it was an offer he couldn’t refuse.  Approximately 18 months later, Nicholson was promoted to manager of that location.

Other store manager jobs followed before Nicholson was offered a job with TBC Corporation teaching sales and store management for Tire Kingdom Service Centers.

Today, he serves as Senior Director, Retail Training for TBC Corporation, one of North America’s largest marketers of automotive replacement tires through a multi-channel strategy headquartered in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. In his position, Nicholson oversees all training efforts for the company’s three retail and three franchise brands which include Tire Kingdom, NTB Tire & Service Centers, Merchants Tire & Auto Service Centers, Midas, Big O Tires and SpeeDee Oil Change & Auto Service.

In addition, TIA will also introduce Tom Formanek, Regional Sales Manager, Stellar Industries as Vice President and David Martin, Director of Sales – Tire Supplies and Specialty Rubber, American Tire Distributors as Secretary.
