Stemco and Goodyear reach licensing agreement

Stemco

Stemco, an EnPro Industries company and a manufacturer of heavy-duty components and solutions for the commercial vehicle market, has officially reached a trademark license agreement (TMLA) with The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company.

The new TMLA follows Stemco’s recent acquisition of the manufacturer of Goodyear Air Springs. It gives Stemco, as the licensee, the authority to continue using the Goodyear trademarks and brand names when marketing and selling the air springs product line.

“Goodyear Air Springs are regarded as the highest quality, most respected air springs in the commercial trucking industry,” said Todd Anderson, president of Stemco. “Continuing to use the brand name lets us maintain consistency and familiarity in the air springs market as the new supplier of these trusted products. We’re glad they are now part of the Stemco family.”

The acquisition included the manufacturer of Goodyear Air Springs for truck, trailer and truck cab suspension products, as well as cab seat springs. All products will continue to be designed and manufactured in the same facility by the same group of dedicated employees.

Stemco acquired the manufacturer of Goodyear Air Springs, as well as Super Cushion and Spring Ride brands, from ContiTech in July 2015. ContiTech is a division of Continental Corporation. The air springs business unit was part of the business called Veyance, which was acquired by Continental in January 2015.
