Sri Trang Agro-Industry Public Company Limited (STA), a major integrated natural rubber company, has joined the Global Platform for Sustainable Natural Rubber (GPSNR) as a member in the Producers, Processors, and Traders category. STA, established in 1987, operates extensive rubber plantations spanning almost 7,000 hectares across 19 provinces in Thailand. The company’s commitment to sustainable and equitable natural rubber production is highlighted by its membership in GPSNR, a platform dedicated to advancing responsible practices in the industry. The collaboration aims to contribute to ongoing efforts within GPSNR, such as the assurance model and shared investment mechanism, to promote sustainable and responsible production.
STA’s Chief Marketing Officer, Nattee Thiraputhbhokin, emphasized the company’s dedication to sustainability through its innovative Sri Trang Ecosystem. This digitalized and transparent framework ensures traceability throughout the entire rubber production process, from tree cultivation to product delivery. By becoming part of GPSNR, STA aims to collaborate with other industry leaders to drive positive change and inspire a more sustainable and equitable future for all stakeholders within the natural rubber sector. STA’s membership adds to GPSNR’s diverse network of over 290 members, including tire manufacturers, natural rubber producers, processors, traders, civil society members, and end-users, collectively shaping the industry’s trajectory toward sustainability.
