AGRICULTURAL biotechnology firm, SGB, and biomaterial specialist, Yulex Corporation, are collaborating to put up a genomics and molecular breeding platform focused on accelerating the crop improvement of sustainable rubber source, Guayule.
For the project, a non-GMO technology platform that combines breeding and selection with genomic technologies, to improve yield of Guayule, will be usedemployed by SGB. Moreover, the firm will implement novel breeding strategies to accelerate the development of improved cultivars with higher rubber yield productivity, consistency and increased stress tolerance, it said.
