Schalke 04 teams up with South Korean tyre manufacturers

Schalke 04 and South Korean tyre manufacturer Kumho Tyre have agreed to a partnership deal running until the end of the 2016/17 season, which includes the option for a further year.

Founded in 1960, Kumho are now selling more than 60 million tyres with a yearly turnover of over three billion euros. The company are also part of one of the most prestigious and biggest companies in Korea, Kumho Asiana Group.

Kumho have further research and development centres in Korea, China, Europe and North America. Whilst their tyres are fitted as original equipment across the globe for car manufacturers such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW, mini and Volkswagen.

Kumho has been a sponsor on the European football scene since 2007 with the likes of Manchester United, Hamburger SV and Rapid Vienna.
