Safic-Alcan forms new South African subsidiary in Johannesburg

French independent distributor of specialty chemicals, Safic-Alcan, has announced the establishment of a new subsidiary based in Johannesburg, South Africa. Safic-Alcan develops and provides wide ranges of polymers, materials and additives for various industries, including rubber, across different markets worldwide – Safic-Alcan Southern Africa will hence service the South African market and those in its neighbouring countries, effective immediately.

Safic-Alcan CEO Philippe Combette, delighted with the opening of the new subsidiary, assured, “We will bring innovative solutions to local customers, and serve our existing and future principals in the best possible way.”

To support the new office, Safic-Alcan has brought in polymer engineer Ronald Marshall who will hold the position of General Manager and take charge of the performance products market in South Africa (CASE, PU, Rubber and Plastic). Marshall was previously associated with technical, sales and business development with renowned companies such as Dunlop Africa and Kluber Lubrication.
