RISDA encourages Malaysian smallholders to cultivate rubber in idle lands

The Rubber Industry Smallholders Development Authority (RISDA) urges smallholders to convert their idle lands into rubber cultivation areas to increase their income. They can avail of incentives such as grants under the rubber replanting assistance scheme.

During the recent  Ihya Ramadan Parlimen ceremony, RISDA’s Chairman Datuk Salim Sharif said that there is various support available for smallholders. The replanting assistance, for example, is worth RM13,710/hectare in the peninsula; RM14,805 in Sarawak;  and RM14,955 in Sabah.

“In expanding the scope of the rubber replanting assistance, our focus under RISDA’s Strategic Planning Model (MPSR) 2021-2025 is to strengthen latex (prices), to help smallholders, ” he said.
