Hankook Tire’s plant located in Chongqing Municipality Liangjiang District Yuzui industrial park has been officially put into operation after several months of trial production.
The US$954 million-worth plant, covering an area of 796 acres, will be producing tyres for passenger cars, trucks and buses.
The plant’s construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2015, when the annual production capacity reaches 11.6 million, including 1.6 million truck and bus tyres. Capacity at the plant is expected to reach 2,400 tyres per day by the middle of this year and by end of 2015, output will have expanded to 10 million car tyres and 1.6 million tyres for trucks and buses.
