THE PHILIPPINE’S Agricultural Department has recently issued the implementing rules and regulations of a law that creates the Philippine Rubber Research Institute, to develop the country’s rubber industry.
An initial Php 100 million (about US$2.5 million) has been allotted for the institute, which will serve as a training centre and provide laboratory and information services. The institute will be located at the Zamboanga Peninsula Integrated Agricultural Research Centre, in the southern part of the country.
