Top Glove Corp Bhd aims to increase it total volume of production by ten percent this year via its capacity expansion of 52 production lines by August. Top Glove managing director, K.M.Lee said the ten percent target for this year is is quite substantial for the company.
Bus tyre contract for Goodyear
Goodyear has secured a sales contract with bus and coach operator, Sales-Lentz. Goodyear introduced Marathon Coach and Ultra Grip Coach tyre winning the contract with the Luxembourg-based company Sales-Lentz, which was involved in the field trials of new tyres and had equipped 22 coaches and buses for touring and local operations at the end of 2012.
Rubber prices rise after four day drop
Rubber advances following a drop in prices to a one-week low and crude oil near the highest level since September boosted the appeal of the commodity used in tyres.

Conti LifeCycle expands in the US

Continental exceeds 2012 sales
In the past fiscal year, Germany-based automotive supplier Continental again exceeded its targets and despite slumping automotive markets in Europe, the firm boosted its 2012 sales by more than 7% to approximately EUR32.7 billion.
Apollo sets up R&D in Europe
Indian tyre maker Apollo Tyres has opened an R&D centre in Enschede, the Netherlands, which will serve as a hub for the development and testing of car and van tyres for its Apollo, Vredestein and Dunlop brands. The Apollo Tyres Global R&D will start operations with more than 100 people from various parts of the world, including 20 car tyre specialists from India and South Africa. It will later be scaled-up to nearly 150 people.
