Omsk Carbon Group to build plant in Belarus

The construction progress of Omsk Carbon Group’s third production site – a carbon black plant – was discussed in Mogilev.

Omsk Carbon Mogilev, the manufacturing facilities, which are being constructed in a Belarusian Free Economic Zone, will commence production in July to August 2016 and are expected to reach their full designed capacity in 2019. These matters were discussed during a recent meeting between representatives of the Mogilev Executive Committee and Omsk Carbon Group.

According to Aleksey Kiselev, Director for Foreign Economic Relations, Omsk Carbon Group, who took part in the meeting, the Belarusian site will manufacture up to 200,000mt of carbon black per year.

It should be realized that this product is rather complicated and requires adaptation for every specific customer facilities. A large number of tests are required for this as well, noted Aleksey Kiselev.

The plant is being constructed using state-of-the-art technologies and the most recent scientific and technical achievements, which guarantees environmentally-friendly manufacturing. Thanks to the Omsk Carbon Mogilev project, over US$103 million will be invested in the Mogilev Region. It is by no means unimportant that when the plant is put into operation, about 450 new workplaces will be provided to Mogilev on the shop-floor alone.
