New water-resistant adhesive latex by Mallard Creek Polymers introduced

Mallard-Creek-Polymers

The new water-resistant adhesive latex by Mallard Creek Polymers has been introduced.

From 2009 through 2013, butadiene cost has been very volatile, driving many companies to seek alternatives. Beginning in 2014 and extending through at least 2016, butadiene costs have returned to historical norms and will remain. This allows the adhesive, sealant, and/or caulk formulator to look again at the value of SB technology. Because of outstanding filler acceptance, water resistance, binding strength, and adhesion, SB’s provide extensive latitude in offering low cost, high performance adhesive systems for flooring of all types, cove based adhesive, and other construction products. MCP offers a full line of Styrene-Butadiene polymer emulsions for use in adhesives, caulks, sealants, barrier coatings and a variety of other applications. If an existing product does not meet your requirements, the company continues to develop new products, often customizing polymers to meet unique customer requirements. Rovene, Tylac and BarrierPro polymer emulsions provide the performance you need across many construction applications.

To complement SB products, MCP has now developed an All Acrylic, water resistant adhesive latex, Rovene 6001. This acrylic polymer emulsion combines industry acrylic technology with MCP’s proprietary technology invented to provide superior water resistance. As the company develops an adhesive polymer line for all applications, MCP has focused on construction products first. These market segments have used SB chemistry, but continue to look for the company to become a ‘one stop shop’ for all polymer dispersions. Based on the strategy of offering the right chemistry for optimum cost/performance, understanding all synthetic emulsion polymer options, and having the most extensive portfolio of styrene butadiene products, MCP is uniquely qualified to assist the construction adhesive formulation scientist in delivering profitable adhesives for their company. To understand how these products and others can help meet your needs, potential customers can view the company’s Pressure Sensitive Adhesive Product Selection Guide or Construction Adhesives Product Selection Guide. If you want to understand the value of using these products, meet the MCP experts at the Adhesives & Sealants Councils’ Spring Convention & Expo in Nashville, Tennessee on April 21, 2015, Booth #305.
