AMERICAN chemical specialist ExxonMobil Chemical is introducing its new EPDM rubber grades at its various distributors’ booths during the 7th India Rubber Expo & Tyre Show to be held January 22-24 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in India.
Three new Vistalon EPDM rubber grades will be showcased at the BP Chemicals booth, Vistalon 2502, Vistalon 6602 and Vistalon 7602, which feature low crystallinity and improved compression set at low and high temperatures for both moulded and extruded applications. These rubber grades are ideal for extruded profiles and hoses, and injection moulded seals.
The Exxon IT0316 grade will be featured at Samir Supply’s booth. The product is an elastic ethylene propylene copolymer processing additive for use in EPDM rubber formulations. It can improve flow in extrusion dies and increase extrusion speed with minimal effect on properties when used up to 10phr. As a result, it can enhance profile output by 8 to 10&. It is well suited for extruded profile applications, such as: weather seals, hoses and tubes, building/construction profiles for tunnels and windows, and general purpose moulded goods. It can also be utilised in butyl/EPDM rubber formulations designed for use in inner tubes, increasing tack and green strength.
Meanwhile, A toolkit of 50 formulations is available to customers online to help them meet the most demanding industry specifications quickly and cost-effectively. (RJA)
