Malaysia to implement clustered rubber plantation in Penang

penanTHE MALAYSIAN Government, through its Rural Transformation Programme, will implement a clustered rubber plantation project to help uplift the living standards of the Penan community at Long Beruang.

In a statement, Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Dr Alfred Jabu, said , “This is the one of the government’s efforts to develop the rural sector and provide opportunity for rural villagers, specifically the Penan community.

The project, which is aimed towards the country’s Vision 2020 scheme, it was fitting for the government to further develop rural areas to achieve its mission of eradicating poverty. is expected to provide income amounting to RM3,000 to RM4,000 per month per four hectares of rubber planted land/family .
