Some 450 jobs will be created as Magneti Marelli set to expand its plant. The company makes shock absorbers and headlights for Fiat Chrysler and Mercedes and currently employs more than 950 people.
The 80,000-square-foot expansion will allow the company to add headlight production for General Motors, Volkswagen and Honda vehicles.
The expansion is scheduled to be completed later this year.
Gov. Bill Haslam lauded Magneti Marelli’s decision to expand the facility. He noted that more than 900 auto suppliers and manufacturers now operate in Tennessee.
Magneti Marelli is a Fiat subsidiary.
