China’s tyre maker Shandong Linglong Tire recently held a ground breaking ceremony for its fourth facility at its Hubei Linglong Tire site in China. The plant will manufacture truck and bus tyres, passenger tyres and off-the-road (OTR) tyres with a capacity of 12 million passenger tyres/year, 2.4 million truck/bus tyres/year, and 60,000 OTR tyres. It projects sales to be valued up to RMB5 billion.
The plant will cover an area of over 900,000 sq m with a planned floor area more than 700,000 sq m.
Nearly 1,000 global partners of the company gathered in Jingmen for the foundation stone laying ceremony. According to Linglong, the new manufacturing base will lay a solid foundation for improving its international market competitiveness to a great degree.
Linglong says the plant will integrate intelligent manufacturing, product lifecycle management, industrial big data application and a high-end brand. The company wants to “break through regional restriction” and serve customers at zero distance, while improving market share and reducing logistics costs.
Under its original ‘3+3’ global industrial layout strategy, Linglong has built three domestic manufacturing bases in Zhaoyuan, Dezhou and Liuzhou.
